Plowing the Fields"

The Holidays:  Another year has been richly blessed and enjoyed.  We continually thank our God for the love and support you have brought to our lives.  We greatly appreciate your persevering with us over the last 6 and half years. December brought in the winter weather.  We had one storm lasting several days that brought in over a foot of snow.  School was cancelled for 3 days and we even had to cancel our Wednesday night service.  The week of Christmas we had more storms preventing us from traveling down to Morenci to see my parents.  So we stayed home and had some brethren over for Christmas dinner. My parents and brother's family as well s Divine's brother's family all came out for the first week of January and we were able to have our Christmas time together.  It was great to have them all come.

Visitation:  The first Sunday of December we went to Bloomfield, NM to preach and give an annual update.  We drove into town on Saturday to do some shopping and spend the night with the Redwines.  We always enjoy our time with them.  They are doing a great work. I was also able to go back to Shiprock for the first time this fall to help teach at the monthly preacher training meeting.  I taught on "Traditions", what is and what is not Biblically allowed.  J. B. Harrington of Farmington, NM and Edison Gruber of Crownpoint, NM also taught and brought good lessons.

Bible Studies and Fellowship:  The church had our regular end of the month potluck which was well attended.  We also did a white elephant exchange that brought a lot of laughs.  For New Year's Eve we had a devotional and followed it up with a night of games, activities and movies and had over 50 in attendance.  We made it to midnight and prayed to God; thanking Him for the many blessing of the past year and asking for strength and guidance in the upcoming year. I have started a new study with a lady named Myra.  She is a single mother of three.  She started attending when we had the parenting seminar and is still coming.  Our first study went really good and she seems hungry for more.  Another lady who has been attending since the parenting seminar is Shelly.  She has seven kids and another child is due this month.  We are hoping for their salvation and maturity in the faith.

Potpourri:  We ran out of propane one Sunday evening, making it quite cold for class, but the next day I checked to see if they refilled the tank.  After opening the lid and seeing that it was full, I closed the lid and there was a high pressure release...."explosion"!  It was so powerful that it blew me about 8 feet back to the ground knocking me out for a second.  I was dazed for the rest of the day and a little sore.  The blast was loud enough that the neighbors called the cops and they came to check on me.  No one exactly knows for sure what happened, but thankfully I am ok.  I am even more grateful that Alaiyah stayed by the car and was not right beside me.

Also we are expecting child #4.  The due date is June 12th.  We'll have our first visit with our midwives next month and will keep you up to date.
