Tim Pyles
My name is Tim Pyles, and I have served as the Preaching Minister at the Broken Arrow church since 2009.
After attending Faulkner University for one year, I transferred to Lipscomb University, where I graduated with a B.A. in Missions (1985) and an M.A. in Biblical Studies (2000). Since 1982, I have served with congregations in Tennessee, Australia, Hawaii, Alabama, Texas, and Oklahoma.
I love sharing the beauty and truth of God’s Word with others. Sometimes that involves guiding a seeker toward saving faith in Jesus Christ, helping young disciples grow and mature in their faith, or encouraging older Christians who have been following Jesus for decades. I love digging into the inexhaustible riches of Scripture and sharing that truth with God’s people, whether in large assemblies, small groups and classes, or one-on-one.
Among the many things I treasure about the BA church, I particularly love the genuine, compassionate servant spirit that permeates our diverse church family. This is expressed through ministries like New Heights Summer Camp, the Food Pantry, Clothing Room, Helping Hands, Kids Kare, and countless individual acts of generosity, kindness, and support that meet real needs in people’s lives every day.
Kim and I have been married for 38 years. We have two adult children. Hannah is married to Reece and works as an oncology nurse in Dallas. Coleman lives at home with us and is a daily source of joy.
I enjoy golf, gardening, landscaping, hiking, and watching sporting events, both live and televised.
Romans 5:8 — “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
